Rememeber Me offers sanctuary to as many unadoptable horses with special needs as possible. Our sanctuary program is always our least funded. Once horses are in a safe place, the donations to care for them seem to fade.
Due to the special needs of senior horses, some horses are deemed permanent residents at Remember Me. They will live out their days and never be unwanted again. We need your help to continue to care for the special needs of these older horses.
26 year old Tricky Prospect was born March 5, 1998 with high hopes of being a champion. After his lackluster 3 start career came to an end he was donated to a college breeding program where he remained for many years. In 2016, Tricky was taken to an auction, a common practice to disburse horses from public programs. We ensured his safety and brought him to RMR to live out his days. He is no longer a breeding stallion, but a happy gelding.
28 year old Marfalous Friend and 18 year old Hero's Crown were donated by their owner who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. A few weeks after their arrival, she passed. She left this world knowing her horses would always have a home. She left her horses a donation that will cover their expenses for years to come.
All of these horses have very special and expense needs, and although Marfalous Friend and Hero's Crown have money set aside, we still need your help to continue to provide quality care for our other horses . Please consider making a one time donation in the honor of one of our horses or become a monthly sponsor.
