Remember Me Rescue is a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Accredited 501(c)3 organization specializing in rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses.
The Deputy was recently found in a kill pen in North Texas. When his story first appeared on social media, Barry Irwin jumped into action, contacted the feed lot and purchased The Deputy before anyone else had a chance to blink. Mr. Irwin then contact Donna Keen of RMR to arrange for his pick up and quarantine.
Thanks to the quick actions of his connections, he will live out the rest of his days being treated like the champion he has always been.
The Deputy is a little on the thin side right now and is still in quarantine. We are trying to keep him as stress free as possible while he regains his weight and returns to his magnificent self. We are hoping by mid April he will be ready for visitors and be a big hit during our RMR tours and possibly even a member of our veterans program horse roster that we hope to have in full swing this summer.
